Hannah, I agree with you! Your post is backed up very well. I also agree that Nixon was not a great president. He was definitely a corrupt, lying, spier! I like how Eisenhower is your number one. The modifications he made to our country are definitely both lasting and beneficial. Great job!

Hannah this answer is great. I feel that your answer was backed up very well. I was thrilled to see that you ranked Richard Nixon last. I might have been slightly disappointed if you hadn't. ;)

I DID laugh really hard at both of your comments! My day is complete. In all seriousness though, I can tell you put a lot of planning and consideration in this answer so well done! I don't think Kennedy should be above Carter because cheaters are liars in my opinion, so I would rather have a president I can count on than one who is more likely to cover up his mistakes for his image than reveal the truth.

1. John F. Kennedy- JFK proved his worth during the Cuban Missile Crisis by peacefully ending unrest. The bay of pigs was a downfall in his administration, but he took complete responsibility. He also created the Peace Corps, and the hope and youth he symbolized inspired America. Furthermore, he was able to be calm and reassuring during times of crisis and even while battling his own health issues.

Elayna, your list is very well thought out! You also have great reasonings for your rankings. Although, it seems that you have exceeded the number of words available in a post! I would love to see the last four rankings on your list. Great job!

with his choice on making new taxes since it was good for us (he shouldn’t have made a promise he couldn’t keep though). He’s above Reagan for being loyal, intelligent, and good at foreign policy, and he’s below Clinton for being competitive and accomplishing a lot less than him.

Sorry Elayna but I have to disagree with your choice to put Carter at the top. I don't want to anyone to think that I think he was a terrible president because he wasn't but I would like you to consider what he actually did for our country. Disregard foreign affairs (peace with Egypt and Israel) and look at only our country. How did he improve our lives economically.

1. John F. Kennedy - JFK was a disaster averted president who very effectively achieved a peaceful conclusion to the Cuban Missile Crisis. He established the peace corps. His image overall made him a role model to Americans, and his Open Door Policy proved to win over America. JFK had is flaws, including the bay of pigs, but he took responsibility for the failure. He wasn't great with Civil Rights at first, but that quickly changed. For such a young man, JFK was so effective and so great at the presidency regardless of his sexual scandals and illnesses.

I agree with what you said about President Nixon. He did not do one thing that was good for America. Only made things worse. Good job on your reasons for your ratings.

McCall, great list! I definitely agree with your number one and two rankings. I also love how you put Johnson so high on your list, and I agree that Nixon was an untrustworthy and scheming president. Nice job!

1. John F. Kennedy- John F. Kennedy was the youngest president to ever be elected into office. He changed the political system forever. Kennedy was a role model for Americans and his open door policy proved to win them over. He okayed the “Bay of Pigs” which ended up being a complete disaster but he took full responsibility for it earning the nation’s trust. He also created the Peace Core and challenged Americans to go to the moon. He handled the Cuban Missile crisis with a calm attitude and negotiated for a peaceful outcome. John didn’t do much for civil rights but gained a new appreciation for it after watching a protest on television. His assassination was the most devastating thing to happen to America since the attack on Pearl Harbor. John F. Kennedy like every president had his flaws along with health issues; the way he handled issues during his presidency and the things he did to help advance the United States are the reasons he received such a high ranking.

rather than entering another war. He initially promised not to raise taxes but did so to help America’s economy. I believe he was brave in doing so although it may have helped in the result of him not being reelected. George H.W. Bush’s decision to not enter into war with Iraq is a major reason he was placed.

1. John F. Kennedy. Kennedy is one of the best presidents in my opinion. He helped end segregation and played a huge role in the civil rights movement. He was one of the most adored presidents for more than just his looks as well. He also avoided what would have become the most deadly war in history.

I agree with Makayla. Also, why do you say George W. Bush handled 9/11 better than any of us? What does that mean?

1. Reagan- I applaud Reagan's ability to obtain legislation to stimulate economic growth, curb inflation, increase employment, and strengthen national defense. After he had achieved all of this he focused on reducing the huge deficit acquired through strengthening the military. Throughout his term he held the record for longest and prosperous peacetime. He was an "everything" president. I feel that Reagan had the American public's best interests in mind and was involved in all areas of government
