According to my opinion the Wilson administration deserves a B- for its contribution. Woodrow Wilson was a democrat who put emphasize on progressive reforms. He encouraged many reforms in a lot of fields, passed important parts of the legislation and won the Nobel Peace Price.

I second Maddy's opinion! I'm glad he did so much for your people! That's amazing. I also like how you tried not to be biased and mentioned some of his flaws. *high five*

I had no idea that Woodrow Wilson did so much for those countries! I agree with Maddy and Elayna you did a very nice job on this answer, and reading what he did for those foreign countries made me raise my grade for him too!

I really loved your post Arjana. I learned so much from this post. I think it's fascinating what he did Albania. I had no idea that one of American's presidents could impact another country so greatly. Great answer

Arjana, I always love reading your answers. They're always awesome. I loved that you provided some addition insight and personal reasons about Wilson regarding your own country. That's very interesting to know, and probably something I wouldn't have found out on my own! Awesome job!

Like Timmi said, I also had no idea he did all that for those other countries. This is a great answer Arjana and you made a lot of good points. Your answers are also great. Good job!

I give Woodrow Wilson and his administration a D. I adore the fact that he wrote his own speeches, which were, in fact, very good and motivational. Wilson did many more praise-worthy things such as appearing before Congress, holding regular press conferences, reducing tariffs through the Underwood-Simmons bill, reconstructing the currency system, establishing the Federal Reserve Banks, protecting children and women from unfair labor by passing bills, and fighting for the League of Nations which he received a Nobel Prize for Peace. I am not ignoring this administration's accomplishments, but I disagree with the facts that they strongly supported segregating the federal government, were apprehensive of immigrants which caused tension, and tried to manipulate the Mexican Revolution increasing the distrust of Americans. On top of that, Wilson was racist and sexist towards women. I'm glad he cared about the poor, but to only care about white poor people is unacceptable. He was so racist that he furthered the Jim Crow laws. Also, he brought the income tax which we still have today and is bad! Many said that he was basically conceited since he was a doctor and knew himself to be very intellectual. I do not approve of conceited, racist, and sexist people, so the fact that his administration backed him up without taking those characteristics into view, makes me think very lowly of them. He was also a liar by saying that he was anti-war just to win the next election and then declaring war. He said, "We shall fight for the things which we have always carried nearest our hearts, for Democracy, for the right of those who submit to authority to have a voice in their own government." The women suffragists made him eat his words and eventually were permitted with the right to vote. He was a hypocrite with nearly all that he said. Here are a few examples: "The ear of the leader must ring with the voices of the people," and "I would rather belong to a poor nation that was free than a rich nation that had ceased to be in love with liberty." He seemed to care more about himself and wealth than America and our rights. These reasons are why I give Wilson and his administration a D.

I admire the fact that Woodrow Wilson was our first intellectual president. I like that he wanted to destroy monopolies unlike Teddy Roosevelt who just wanted to regulate them, and he helped the poor by lowering tariffs and introducing an income tax. I also liked that he reformed the banking system. However, I don’t like his disapproval of women’s suffrage. I agree with Elayna that he seemed a little hypocritical about democracy but then not giving women the right to vote. Before reading Arjana’s answer, I would’ve give Woodrow Wilson about a B- or a C+, but I had no idea he did so much for European countries, and raised his grade to an A-.

Good job on answering the question. I do like how you put in that we will never have a perfect president again like Wilson was.

I would have to give the Wilson administration a low B. I like the fact that Wilson wanted to destroy monopolies, although I feel that regulating them like Roosevelt wanted to do would have been much more reasonable and attainable. The fact that Wilson was a scholar was admirable. Wilson's lowering of tariffs and the Underwood-Simmons Tariff ended up losing revenue, but the Income Tax that was newly imposed made up for the loss. Although everyone probably hates income taxes, they keep the rich from completely overpowering the poor, and I personally don't think they are a terrible idea. Ask me in 5 years about them and I probably won't agree. I like that Wilson also prohibited goods to be transported that were produced by young children. The Federal Reserve Act created regional banks and proved to be a big reform movement in the banking systems. To add to his good, Wilson also supported the League of Nations. I don't like Wilson for the fact that he wouldn't give women the right to vote. It's really hard for me to understand why he wouldn't do it. I like Elayna's quote that proved he was a hypocrite. It really upsets me that women had to fight so hard and take drastic measures to get him to allow voting. That makes his grade plummet a little. His ability to make other countries love him is probably another favorable quality. Wilson was good, but he definitely had his faults.

Woodrow Wilson was known for more good things than he was bad. He had a lot of influence on the European people which made him very successful. He was the very first intellectual president. Giving him benefits in his presidency. He made some very good decisions. When he lowered tariffs to help people, he gained a lot of respect from the people around him. But something that is also going to lower my grade for him is the fact that he didnt approve of womens rights. He wanted to be different from presidents including President Roosevelt. He started the program "New Freedom" based on economic policy and the trusts. This was something good that he did. Something that also made him different from Roosevelt was that Wilson was going to destroy monoplies instead of multiplying them. For this I give Woodrow Wilson and B+.

I agree that his disapproval for women's suffrage was one of his biggest downfalls, and would have been a much better president if he had supported the movement.

Woodrow Wilson deserves a B in my opinion. Although he did many great things, he also did some not so good things. I think that it is absolutely terrible that he wouldn't allow woman the right to vote. They had to go through so many hard things for him to allow it and I just don't like the fact that he didn't allow it. He did many good things though, he wanted to destroy monopolies which is a good thing. Wilson supported the League of Nations and that is why his grade was raised. Another good thing to take into consideration is that he prohibited goods from being transported that were made by children. That's very admirable in my opinion. I think that for the time Wilson did what he could for the country the best he knew how. No president is perfect like Rachel said earlier and he did the best he could. So that is why he got the grade of a B.

After reading Arjana's answer my grade for Woodrow Wilson changed. At first I was going to give him a C because he fought to help break the power of trusts with the Underwood-Simmons Tariff, and reformed the American banking system. I do not like how he refused to support women's suffrage and even wanted segregation back in federal agencies and called proposals from progressives as unnecessary or unconstitutional which is why I initially graded him so low. After reading about how much he did for Albania, I raised his grade to a B.

The Wilson administration, like all presidential terms had its ups and downs. Wilson was a good president and a great leader. He was a very forceful military leader and helped to end wars. Arjana's answer definatly help raise his grade in my opinion but the fact that he did not allow women all the rights they should have been granted brings my grade to a B.
